Shubhalakshmi Khan, the wife of legendary Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, was herself an acclaimed BharataNatyam Dancer. She learned Bharata Natyam in Kalakshetra, the famous dance institute in Chennai and received her training under the close supervision of guru Rukmini Arundale. In an interview with India Today, Khan Saab, as Ustad Amjad Ali Khan is called respectfully and affectionately, said - "She was a great dancer!
